This past Summer I created these cute little succulent and cork favors for a dinner party with friends, and placed one at each table setting.
They were a BIG HIT and each guest got to take their little succulent creation home!
Since succulents can survive for quite a long time without water, they can remain in the corks for quite a while. When they start to wilt they can be added to a pot or planted in the garden!
Take note... many succulents are not frost-hardy and if you live in a frost-prone area it is good idea to protect them with frost cloth, or bring them indoors during those periods.

Here's a great way to "decorate" your orchids while they are out of bloom... attach some succulent cuttings to the stems and voila, a beautiful new plant! The succulent cuttings will look good for days and even weeks without water. When they get tired looking, plant them outdoors and attach new cuttings to the orchid stems!
