LANDSCAPE AND GARDEN DESIGN TRANSFORMATION - RE-BUILT MODERN HOME, SAN RAFAEL, CA
|
Project Overview:
A modern hardscape transformation and sustainable garden design compliment this re-built modern home. In the front, the updates include concrete stairs, porcelain pavers, pathways, concrete driveway and wood accents. The former lawn was replaced with a variety of colorful low-water plants, CA natives, succulents and a stately Crape Myrtle tree. The gravel mulch provides a 'fire-safe' alternative to bark mulch. For the back, we specified Granitecrete in between the porcelain pavers to add a warmth to the gray tones of the hardscape. (similar to Decomposed Granite - DG, and a more stable alternative). A smaller, low-water lawn, along with colorful low-water plants beautify the back landscape and contrast almost seamlessly with the distant hillside views. The side landscape (not shown) includes a water feature, screening shrubs and other colorful plants. These photos were taken just 3 months after installation! |
