MULTI-LEVEL REIMAGINED MODERN LANDSCAPE - MILL VALLEY, CA

Project Overview:
​This dramatic landscape was transformed with multi-level patio areas and terraced retaining walls with connecting stairways. Designed to offer more usable space for the home owners' and family to enjoy. Now ample room for dining, entertaining and lounging around the fire pit. The new patios and stairways are constructed with concrete. The new walls have been finished with a complimentary stucco color. The deck was updated and reconfigured with Ipe wood and cable railing. The lowest area features turf with a play structure for the children. The completed landscape design resulted in a clean, modern aesthetic, softened by a variety of water-wise plants, succulents and trees. 

Design Details:

• Multi-level stucco retaining walls and contrasting concrete patios.
• New Ipe Deck and cable railing.
• More usable areas for dining and entertaining and easy access to the existing hot tub.
• Play areas for the children.
• Low-voltage lighting along patios and stairs and for safety and ambiance
• Variety of low-water, low maintenance plants that include colorful succulents, protea, a smoke tree, a dwarf fig, citrus, Podocarpus screening shrubs and more.
