POOL-SIDE TERRACED GARDEN, GREENBRAE, CA

Project Overview:
​The existing pool surround and patio was updated with natural limestone. The existing brick wall was capped with the same limestone to create continuity and the wall was painted gray to provide a more modern update.
Wood walls installed and stained to create terraced areas that provided an opportunity to incorporate a variety of plants, in this now stable sloped hillside. A new upper fence installed. Lower fence by the pool was clad with horizontal wood and stained. Newly built gas fire pit completes the updates.

Design Details:

• New retaining walls added to create terraced planting areas.
• Existing brick wall painted and capped with limestone.
• Beautiful variety of colorful and textural low-water, low maintenance succulents, red Kangaroo Paw, cascading ground cover plants to soften the walls, grasses and an olive tree, etc. Some native plants, to include Toyon remain.
• Custom gas concrete fire pit.
• Upper fence replaced failing fence and overgrown ivy.
